World news activities
Geography news resources based on The Week magazine
Text books have their place, but activities based on events in today's news have an immediacy all of their own. Our world news activities are produced monthly (sometimes more frequently!) and accompanied by a digital file of the original news item from The Week magazine. It's an up to the minute resource, it will sometimes push the boundaries of Geography, and it will always entertain and educate. Can your students afford to be missing out?
The activity materials are available to subscribers only, while the magazine pages are open to all. Teachit Geography subscribers also get discounted subscriptions to the magazine.
About The Week
Few of us have the time to read one newspaper from cover to cover, let alone the hundreds of newspapers and magazines published every week. Taken together, Britain's daily and Sunday newspapers contain a staggering 5,800 pages – almost 10 million words, each week.
So keeping up-to-date with what's happening and understanding all the issues is difficult, if not impossible.
Fortunately, the answer is now at hand. All the best writing from the domestic and foreign press, The Week is a unique digest which distils the best of the press into just 35 succinct pages. It is concise, witty and well informed – ideal for busy people who want to stay in touch.
[Note: Teachit Geography members need to be logged in to find out about discounted subscriptions to The Week.]
