Developing extended writing skills – the Boscastle floods
This resource uses the example of flooding in Boscastle to help students develop their use of the point, example and explanation structure when answering questions. It allows students to develop their literacy and extended writing skills and to avoid the pitfalls of copying and pasting. It also introduces the differences between cause, effect and response. Also included are an extension task, a possible assessment exercise and useful websites and keywords.
