Winter of 2015: Boston would wave a white flag, if you could see it

Over the past 30 days, Boston in the USA has been hit by multiple storms that brought over 1.78 m (70 inches) of snow to the city!  Roofs of some buildings have collapsed under the weight of the snow.  Amy McHugh of Weymouth, Massachusetts, told CNN, “I keep telling the kids, 'You're going to be telling your kids about this.' It's unimaginable."


  1. Write a caption for the image.
  2. How might the following people be affected?
    • A policeman
    • A delivery driver
    • A pregnant woman
    • An old age pensioner
    • A schoolgirl
    • A nurse in the hospital’s Accident and Emergency department
    • An airline pilot
  3. List three more people who might be affected by the extreme snowfall and explain how it might result in economic loses.
