Jeans manufacture – a global case study
This resource focuses on jeans manufacturing and the advantages and disadvantages of this globalised industry. The resource provides background information on the history of jeans, from their creation as a work garment to being a ubiquitous item of fashion clothing. It considers the inputs and throughputs (work done) carried out in many countries which result in the manufacture of a pair of jeans. Students then consider those who benefit from globalisation and the problems caused. Teaching notes with extension suggestions are included.
