Turtles of Costa Rica
This beautifully presented display resource from Discover the World Education introduces students to the sea turtles of Costa Rica and can be used in the geography or science classroom to support teaching of ecology, environmental awareness and conservation.
The resource provides information on the olive ridley turtle, the leatherback turtle, the hawksbill turtle and the green turtle.
It examines the importance of the turtles' habitat and outlines the threats to their survival but also suggests what can be done to help protect them. The final page includes an interview with Heike Russell, who works for the Pacuare Leatherback Turtle Reserve in Costa Rica.
This resource could be used in conjunction with the Whales of Iceland.
